About Christ Church

Christ Church is an Anglican Parish chartered in 1887 and located in downtown Springfield, Illinois.  Our church is in the process of transition, renewal, and transformation as a congregation.  The 125 year-old, architecturally significant stone church building is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is located just one block from the Lincoln Home National Historic Park and one block from the Illinois Governor’s Mansion.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,  built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.  In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.   And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”   -Ephesians 2:20-22

Worship with us every Sunday at 8am & 10:15am!

Please join us for coffee, donuts and fellowship following each worship service, downstairs in our Fellowship Hall!

Additionally, we offer a warm, safe and delightful nursery and toddler area which is supervised by a licensed childcare provider. The nursery is available for children ages 4 and under during both worship services.
